What is Backround Itelligent Transfer service do? it says that it uses idle network bandwidth to transfer data.

i don't get what data it's talking about...can someone help me?

i think its a service that is used to transfer files. so if there is a blockage of this transfer, This service enables windows to continue the transfer where it left off, and it uses the unused part of you bandwidth(the % that you are not using).
