I have ws ftp pro on mine and another remote computer. My cable provider is comcast. I mistakendly understand that the ip address of the remote computer that i want to connect to is what i should type in the address bar on mine. I kind of think I may have to use my service providers address . I know theres plently of info on doing this out there which Im trying to follow. I just need some cut to the chase logic on the address part for me to get past this error.
 
You need to use the IP assigned by the ISP. You also need to be using the right port number and make sure that WS FTP is listening on that port. Another thing to check is any firewall software. If that port is blocked, you won't connect.
