First you may need a Welcome to the Computer Forum! http://www.computerforum.com/70672-official-welcome-thread.html and the usual reminder given to all new member to review the http://www.computerforum.com/52038-forum-rules.html

The memory is a garbage brand but the rest would work. You may want to go with a newer model video card however. The purpose for the build like being a budget case, work horse, or gaming build would help here however. You have already picked out a heay enough supply. And a dual core cpu will help with the multitasking side of things.

4GB RAM is more than you need. Get a better video card, maybe an 8000 series and downgrade to 2GB. Trust me, I have yet to run out of RAM, and I don't run a paging file...

Also, look into a Core 2 Duo processor. You could probably get a bit better performace for the same price.

While going with a far better brand of less memory like 2gb of Corsair or Kingston DDR2 800 will easily work out good there a Core 2 Duo won't quite work on the AM2 MSI model board selected. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...TT=13-130-048&CMP=KNC-overturesmx&ATT=product

Which model 4200+ are you going with the 65w or 89w model? The information on the 89w model is seen at http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desktop/details.aspx?opn=ADA4200IAA5CU

For the 65w model, http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desktop/details.aspx?opn=ADO4200IAA5CU

lol I ment 2 gigs of ram... sry. I'm focusing for a gaming build. Yea I was thinking about an 8k video card but my parents have a 7600 and it runs games great. I guess they could improve that much more in a year or so.

The old build here ran an ATI Radeon 9550 256mb AGP model that ran games good for the old Socket A build there. The main rave about going with a newer high cost card is more about fps then anything else other then ocing. The current build runs a Radeon X1300 PCI-E model with only 4 pixel pipelines with games running well on both XP and Vista(except for sound at the present) for the stock build. Driver support after a certain point becomes the real concern when the latest are intended for newer models. With ATI the current updates support the X series cards with the 9xxx models? foobar!
