Setting Pale Moon for Spam and Antivirus Protection

I just installed Pale Moon X65 and I’m still trying to get it set up, but I just noticed that I don’t have my Bitdefender or Adblock add-on extensions that I had in Firefox.
I also noticed a couple of emails from my regular forums that aren’t who they say they are. I did not open them up because I was suspicious of the subject line and then I noticed that when my pointer went over the name it showed something else completely. I have never had that happen before with the Bitdefender add-on.
Ok is there a trick to getting these two add-ons installed in Pale Moon?

Pale Moon is independent from Firefox. So you need to find your add-ons and install them. The add-ons and themes don't magically copy over from Firefox.

Ok thanks. I though because that both Adblock and Bitdefender were programs that were installed on my computer that it would be automatic for all browsers.

I can't find a solution for Bitdefender and I just don't understand why that isn't working because it was automatic when I installed it. I will probably have to contact their support to get it to work, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep Pale Moon just yet.

I did look into Adblock add-ins and found that it needs a different version for 64 bit. I'm just not sure if it is from the same developer.
 
Adblock Plus is Adblock plus. There are other add-ons called Adblock, but they aren't Adblock Plus that looks like the stopsign. :rolleyes:

Well it looks like I had only one choice for Pale Moon X64 and it was Adblock Latitude 3.0.2. It has a red shield with the letters ABL The others wanted to load up on FireFox and ignored Pale Moon.
It seems to be working, but there seems to be some problem of using the link from within an email notification which is OK I guess. I also found that it took a long time to post this post.

.....Just use the link to adblock plus that I linked above.

And also there is no x65. It's x64.
 
Adblock latitude is for Pale Moon.

Adblock plus doesn't work with version 25 or higher.

Yeah it does. I'm running 25.3.2 with ABP perfectly fine. The icon just doesn't appear on the taskbar. You need to change its options in the add-on tab.
 
Wow. News to me. Last I heard ABP wouldn't work with 25 or higher because of the new code PM uses. Unless they fixed it because I was using ABP with 25 and was getting ads and popups.
 
Flash Video Downloader also works again. I've been using the latest versions on my laptop but kept v24 on my desktop. After seeing things are working on v25 I upgraded my desktop without issue.
 
Well Adblock latitude 3.0.2 is working pretty dam good right now and I think I like it a lot better than Adblock Plus.
I just finished watching the news from 4 different News channels on Pale Moon and it just ran so smoothly. I usually have to set Adblock Plus on Firefox to not run on each page with a video and reload the page just to watch a video with the ads.
I have to say that I love not having to do that. I was getting pretty close to not using it at all, but I hated watching all the ads and popups on my email and now I got the best of both worlds.

They will work in Pale Moon. I use the 32 bit version of Pale Moon though.

Thanks It is just so confusing when it says install in Firefox when I want it in Pale Moon.

I have the full paid version of Bitdefender, but that addon link might work because I assume that it will recognize the full version or vice versa, but you never know.:rolleyes:

Well I checked out the Bitdefender QuickScan and I realized that I already have that because that scans the computer. The Bitdefender TrafficLight for Firefox sounds more like what I had in Firefox and when I looked it up, I found that it is available for Firefox and Chrome.
There are some negative reviews recommending “Do Not Install” so now I’m not so sure if I want it. I felt secure in having a green checkmark next to sites in my search list indicating a safe site and from what this single reviewer is saying, I’m not so sure anymore. I don’t know if this singe person has any credibility of if he’s a troll, but I would like to know more. :(

I did a search on Bitdefender TrafficLight and there were a lot of positive reviews, but this post below from 2012 was disturbing. It mentioned Bitdefender used HTTP and not HTTPS to search the databases. The poster had notified Bitdefender and they agreed it was a problem, but I don’t know if they fixed it for 2015.
