setting up a wireless home network....

Hey guys,

I am trying to properly set up our wireless home network here. We have 5 computers: 3 desktops that are running XP and are wired into the router, 1 desktop that is running Vista and is connected to the router through the wireless antenna, and 1 laptop thats running XP and is also wireless. Our 3 hard-wired desktops all can file-share and work properly in the network. The laptop and the Vista PC can not see any other computer on the network, but successfully connect to the internet. All computers have shared folders/files. The router is a Linksys WRT54GS . I don't think the problem is that we are running multiple operating systems between the computers, I think the problem is that the wireless computers can't see the wired computers and vice versa. If anyone knows how to make this possible please let me know. Thanks

Jeff

Are all of the computers members of the same workgroup? Have you checked the firewall settings? Have you turned off simple file sharing?

they are all members of MSHOME, none of them have a firewall except Windows Firewall, and they all have file sharing turned on.

I forgot that the laptop can see the other computers, they just can't see it. I don't if it can see the Vista computer, because we just got the Vista computer like 2 days ago, and the laptop is being serviced at best buy for a hard drive failure.

Have you checked the permissions for the files that you want to share. Did you use the network setup wizard for the laptop?

yeah I used the network setup wizard, and each computer is setup to share...the thing is the wired computers cant see the wireless computers at all.
