Setting Up Computer

I'm not entirely sure where to post this, but I need to connect all the cables in the right manner. My computer isn't starting, so I need a step by step, cable by cable direction of how to set it up. If someone knows a good link, or wants to post a step by step process, I'd appreciate it.
 
What MB are you using? HD? CPU? Mem? need spacifics.

When you boot what happens? Does it post? does it make it to windows and freeze? Are your fans spinning up to max and staying there?

Need a lot of info for an answer...
 
I'm not sure what MB it is. But whenever I try to start it, the monitor screen is blank, and the power light on the monitor is orange.

This can be any number of problems. I would search Google for some tutorials on this. If you could list the specs of your computer somebody here might be able to help you out.
 
If you give us the specs of your computer that would help and tell us how you put it together.
MB= motherboard
