Setting up LAN

I have two computers connected to a broadband router (Actiontec) for Verizon DSL. Could someone give me a quick guide on how to connect these two computer? I messed with it and did a small amount of searching to no avail. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
 
nothing big really, assuming your router is DHCP, all you have to do is enable file/printer sharing on your pc !! i mean both
 
Type, //ComputerName in Run.
You should be able to access all the shared folders on the other computer.

Note: LAN cables do not work in Vista. File Sharing in LAN between Vista and XP is not possible as yet.
