Setting up my rig

Another question, would it make a difference if I just got one 8GB card at a time or would that be too much on one card? Say if I were to just run one card for a while. Would it get too hot?

No. Overheating RAM is a non issue really unless it's faulty RAM, which in itself is pretty unlikely for overheating to be the issue.

You'll get theoretical better speed out of Dual Channel mode (2 sticks working together) but if you're planning on tossing in another stick of 8GB later down the line then one stick for now is fine.

Well, the reason I asked is because I wasn't positive yet if it was the card or the slot that went bad but I just tested it and it turns out the slot is bad. So now the plan is obviously to get two 8gb ram card's and leave the last slot open just in case I want to add one more depending on what future system requirements are for video games.

You can use 1, 2, or 4 slots at a time. If one slot is dead, that means the max is 2 slots. How did you figure put the slot was dead and not the ram? I would go ahead and RMA the board while its still under warranty. It will be worth more when you upgrade.

I figured out the slot was the problem Because the card that I took out that I thought was bad originally, I put into the 4th card slot where the card was still good and the computer still ran fine with no beeps or anything but when I put a card in slot 3 it started beeping again. What do you mean while it's still under warranty? I have 3 cards in right now for a total of 6GB of ram instead of 8GB.

Also, the 750W PSU is now $10 less then the 600W PSU for the black friday sale.

I'm bored so I took pictures of the outside and inside to show you guys the spots for the fans and what the outside looks like. I also have a picture of what I want it to kind of look like eventually. Also, I realize that my wires are a mess but I'm hoping that when I get my new PSU it shouldn't be so bad.

When your referring to a memory stick, use the word stick instead of card. When you use the word card, it makes people think your referring to a video card or sound card and so on, like something that goes in one of the PCIe/PCI slots. Just a heads up.
