"Setup.exe Has Stopped Running" When Removing Programs

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 and am trying to remove a couple programs through the control panel (netzero launcher, skype launcher) but when I click "remove" I get the error message "Setup.exe has stopped working" and then it asks me if I want to search for a solution online. I do this and nothing happens so I just close it out.

Any idea what may be causing this?

Try this procedure and see if it helps.

Disable the Startup programs and services

1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon ( ), and then click Search .
2. In the Search text box, type msconfig , and then press Enter . The System Configuration Utility window opens.
3. Click the Startup tab, and then click Disable All .
4. Click the Services tab, select Hide all Microsoft services , and then click Disable All .
5. Click Apply , and then click OK . The System Configuration dialog box opens.
6. Click Restart .
7. When the computer restarts, a System Configuration Utility message displays. Select the Do not show this message again check box, and then click OK .

It didn't. When I hid all microsoft services neither of those apps showed up either (not sure if they should have or not).

And I forgot to mention I'm using Windows 7 if that helps any.

Try Windows install clean up utility. It works a treat for me when I get dodgy installs, however I am not to sure if it supports Windows 7. Either way worth a quick look.
