you know.. i used to use phex for regular gnutella downloading, and bitcomet for bittorrent and such...
i tried shareaza, and it does gnutella 1, gnutella 2, and bittorrent downloads!
im satisfied with it, it does all my downloading for me rather than havin multiple programs to download stuff.

Emule is good
DC++ (and it's rips) is THE BEST file sharing application in circulation at this time, however it takes a lot of share to get good speeds (but you can't go wrong with downloading a movie in under 12 minutes at 3Mbps)

maybe from all the ones that i tried i had really bad speeds with shareaza and i have a nice broadband and this is my big problem with it.
i don't know about the speeds of the programs posted here, what can you say about it?

well i just tried DC++ and i dont like it, my top download speed was only about 40kbs, and kept having problems with connecting and free slots etc, im just stickin to torrent.

the best i have used is BearShare, which serches gunutella like limewire, i also find it a lot more user friendly than both limewire and shareaza.

I have Shareaza and would never get anything else, Good GUI, Fast Downloads, Spyware/Adware Free. You can choose any or all of three networks, and one of them is the Emule network so your getting that and more.

I have LimeWire PRO 4.9 and Shareaza 2.2.1.0, i configured it both the best I could, when searching for a certain file like music, game etc. (all legal of course) i get like 4 times more results with Shareaza, so I think Shareaza iz better, it uses Gnutella1, Gnutella2 and eDonkey protocol
