shared computers

I have currently been using a shared network to transfer files etc from one computer to another. I have recently bought a new pc that is running a different operating system (Vista) to my normal xp. I want to connect this computer to the shared network so i can transfer files with the other computers. How do i add it to the shared network and can i do this if it is vista and not xp ?

just plug in your network cable put it in the same workgroup and let loose.
oh enable File/printer sharing too
To enable file sharing, do the following:

In the Sharing and Discovery section of the Network and Sharing Center window, click the down arrow next to File sharing.

In the File sharing settings, click Turn on file sharing, and then click Apply.

it's pretty easy

to change the workgroup is still the same as XP, you need to go to Advance system settings after you've right-cliked on your computer
 
Start - right click on computer - properties - in the computer name, domain, and workgroup settings section (in the middle) click on change settings (it's on the right side) - change - add the computer name if necessary and set the work group name.
