ive brought it up before about 18mo ago and let it go. All shared and always have been. right now i have 4 computers and shared. I can access xp home and pro. From the others i can not access mine. Its important sometime. I don't have to get out of my chair. More curious as to why if im accessing the others i can see mine but no access or permissions. Whats up. i shared and did the program i think.
my adventure again...........

Let us work this out.
Did you turn on network discovery?
Did you share the folders that you wanted to share? all the rights?
Do you have a workgroup setup with the same name on all the computers?
You said you can't access yours, Can you see it on other computer and can't access or you don't see it at all?
All the computer are connected to the same router?
Is just files that you wanted to copy or see sometime?
Do you have security login on your computer?
What happen when you try to access it?
Cheers

something new ya mentioned was network discovery.
I can see and access all and always could. i can copy and paste to mine.
i can not see my computer from the others. other problem is i have family here

You can see other computer that mean your network discovery already turn on. So don't worry about that.
For other computer to see you,you have to has the same workgroup name as others. Windows 7 use homegroup and xp use workgroup. so check to see if your computer have the same workgroup.
If you just want to map the network drive how ever you can use the ip address to map your computer drive without change the workgroup name.

Cheers.
