Sharpness Problems

I recently got a gateway 2185W 21" LCD monitor. The problem is: my DVD playback is not sharp. It is slightly fuzzy. I would expect that it would be tack sharp with a 1680X1250 resolution, but no. My video card is not the problem because I have replaced it also. (evga 6200). Any ideas? thanks.
 
Native resolution for that monitor is 1680x1050, not 1680x1250. Adjust your resolution to match and you should see a difference.

and the 6200 isn't that greater card! it isnt designed to play DVD's at the resolution!

It will play DVD's fine.

QUESTIONS 101
I am also guessing the native resolution but it could also be your codecs, check that they are installed right and not corrupt/out of date.
 
could have many possible causes.

like previously stated, it can also be the quality of the dvd. is it home burned or store bought?
