Shipping at newegg?

Okay,

You buy a pack of fan grills.
And a pack of fan filters.
And an 80 mm fan.
And a 3 pin sound card cable.
And this.
And that.

All petty items weighing in at less than a pound, that can fit in a usps small box.

five items at 5$ shipping each you get charged 30$ when I know it can all go in one small box that costs $5 to send priority mail?

Why?

Is there a "Dont rip me off on shipping" coupon......

// ....

It combine shipping for multiple quantities of the same, but not combine for say, grill and filter.

:(

they ship really fast but they only use fedex and ups. which are not your average everyday shipping. that is why when you order make sure you order a bunch of other stuff to make it worth it. like maybe a hard drive or a cpu or motherboard or monitor. it would be stupid to order a memory stick and pay for shipping. the stuff that you are ordering you can get at a local retailer then you dont have to pay shipping.

Thats the downside with newegg, if you buy either cheap or light things then you get ripped off, but you make up for it when you buy a 30lb monitor for only $10 shipping.

My suggestion is to buy them somewhere else, or get enough of them so you get a discounted shipping charge.

wat r you talking about?? i just added like 3 fans to my cart and each had 4.99 s/h and then i said calculate shipping cost(or w/e its called), it showed about ~$8 not 15.

Look for the "free shipping" items.

Really if you are buying petty things like fan filters/fans, get them at your local computer store. They mght be a few bucks more, but it's still cheaper than shipping on all of the, and you don't have to wait to use them. You can usually find fan "packs" with 4-6 fans in one package, for one shipping price on some sites.

probably because the fans your added to your cart had a shipping discount if you bought 3+.
how do you check that?? it didnt say anywhere about it..i even did 2 items and still not 10 but like 6

They charge shipping on each item?!?!?!

Thats ****ed up. Every place i buy from in UK, ships according to weight, not how many productsyou have.

Thats the way it should be

But I'm sure they make KILLER money that way on each petty item.

They combining similar items, but not different = RIP off.

Just like some ebay ppl.

// PS

Only 'local' place for fans and whatnot is Best Buy - and they'll rip you big too.

Best Buy is all you have within a few miles? Wow that sucks, I could stop by 5-6 shops within a few miles radius of where I live, and if i wanted to drive a bit more maybe 15+ stores at the least. All kinds of small shops, plus your CompUSA, BestBuy, CircuitCity, Fry's, etc.

Yeah it sucks.

We have a circuit city too, but they dont sell small items like that.

They mostly sell Mice, keyboards, and other 'common' pereps.

But its still cheaper to get an Intelli-explorer wireless on pricewatch.com with free ship than circuit city or best butt.

Our best butt sales people and 'squad' are MORONS to boot. They'll always sell you the wrong thing.

And I have never, ever once gotton my rebates from best buy.

Yah rebates are a pain for me as well, I usually just never hope to receive them if they are MIR. It's a shock when they come about 3-4 months later, I've totally forgotten by then.

I still havent gotten my $50 in rebated from circuit city, and i sent away for them in early september :(

the shipping would be based on weight and length width height of the Item with UPS and Purolator

I am actually developing a shipping calculator for my upcoming website that calculates the most accurate shipping price possible for the customer.....arggg it's a PITA

I thought it would be fairly simple....but I guess thats why no one has an accurate shipping quote...since it is highly highly complex

thats why you use eBay's shipping calculator :P

it doesn't work the same as what I'm doing...no one even sells a package to calculate it

it's based on h/w/l and weight + the ability to stack many differently sizes things in several box configurations....it's for a real store, not an ebay item

look for those special shipping items...when i bought my fans, instead of buying 2 (what i needed) which would have cost dollars with 10 dollars shipping. I bought 10 fans with free shipping, which came out to less than 10 dollars.

Bought a 3 pack of fans with 3 scorpion grills and 3 filters on ebay. $24 after ship.

Also includes 3 fans stead of two. So at least I saved 15$.

One way to put an end to all of this is to try keep the cost from going to the company that is pulling the fast one. If the cost to ship each item is $5, and they want to charge you $15 for three, just put it in as 3 separate orders. You can even send them to multiple locations to make sure they can't combine them. However, if it is Newegg, they'll probably have a major problem with the multiple addresses and hold up your order because of it.

BTW, Newegg has a policy to automatically call the bank on any orders over $200. Talk about a pain. If they can't get ahold of the bank right away, they will delay your order until they can. They have really good prices, but with the shipping delays and bogus shipping, I wonder how different they are than an ebay seller.
