should i add a spare 256 to my 1gig?

I have a abit fatal1ty AA8XE and have 1 gig of ram in 2 sticks in one of the 2 dual channels. From my old Pc should i add the old 256 module into the third of four slots?

No. You'll lose your dual channel and the extra 256MB wont be an earth shattering difference

I doubt that your old stick can be added anyway, it's not DDR2 is it?
