Should I buy a Pentium II

I really want a used laptop. I found a 400 MHZ Thinkpad on eBay for $120. With Windows 98. Should I save up for a faster one?
 
What do u plan on doing with a windows 98 laptop anyway? If your gonna upgrade it anyway save up for something useful.
 
What do you plan on doing with it.... Theres no point buying a Ferrari if all you're doing is driving to the shops, if you get what i mean ;)
 
pentium II?? dont expect to play games or do alot of media work on it :P if ur just going to use it for really simple web browsing and word.. it should be ok but will be very slow on web pages with alot of graphics or videos..

i hate to snuff your candle, but you wanna get something that runs at lest XP. and while youre at it, u should probably wait till your budget is a lil broader...
 
Do not expect to play any flash videos or load very large pages(at least not quickly) A PII will surf the net just fine if that's all you want to do. However, you will about have to limit yourself to basic HTML pages and simple forums.

Plus, in general, laptops really hold their value. Anything over $100 is a lot for any old laptop. And realize for about $400 you can probably find a NEW laptop.
