Should I buy a refurb vid card or a new one?

I'm decided if I should go with a new vid card or a refurb? any thoughts? refurbs are usally cheaper.. but i dunno..
 
i think it sorta depends on where you buy it from and what brand it is, if its a big name brand like Gigabye or MSI or something then you would think their quality control would be very good, because usually its not the sellers that make sure the refurbed products are in good order...my video card is refurbed from newegg and it is flawless, arrived wrapped in the large bubble wrap(had a blast poppin those things) with packing peanuts all around it..
 
depends on ur budget , if your like me you would go with the refurb,and most of the time theres nothing wrong with the refurbs, but if u can spare the money go with the new:)
 
I'd prefer new, but something like a video card should be fine either way. Hard drives, on the other hand...you'd be pretty dumb to get one :P

It might be a good idea to check and see why it's a referb if you can. My printer/scanner, for example is a refurb. From the looks of it, it simply got a little scratched up, but was brand new. If the refurb is say a return, you might want to reconsider...
 
as long as you buy from a reputable dealer that has good policies on refurbs then go for it, most returns are user error and not faulty hardware.
