Should i buy Crucial m500 or is there newer tech

I need to upgrade my SSD to bigger capacity and Crucial has 500GB m500 for around $220 which is pretty good price in Canada.
But not following ssd development does it make sense to buy this drive, or is there any newer tech out or soon to be out that would make buying m500 not a wise choice ?
