Should I do this to wait for new memory

I wonder how can you OC a RAM stick. Is this reccomended at first?

Basically, I want to move from 248MB RAM to 256MB RAM.
I'll stop OC it after the new RAM stick gets in my computer

uhh from 248 to 256? you realize that the 8MB thats missing is going to your onboard video and that you cant put a 8MB stick of RAM in your machine right?

Dude, OCin it makes it run faster, it doesn't increase the amount of memory capacity. You cold go into the BIOS and designate less mem for the IGP, though.

Yes I believe your confusing "Amount" of ram for ram "Speed". Overclocking will make your ram go faster but will not increase the ammount as already said above. I would suggest finding out what ram it is you need and if your able to add more and purchase another stick.

Also another 8meg is not going to make any difference at all so I would not worry about that missing amount as I believe it was said already also it's going to your onboard video.

Ok so what you have to do it change the CDCM (CAS-DDR-CLOCK-MULTIPLIER) to 2.06 and set the DRVDT [DDR-RAS-VOLTAGE-DIVIDER-TIMING] to 3.0 and you'll be good to go....

On a more serious note, see the above posts as they've cleared things up pretty well
