should i get a mac?

Depends on what you want to do. It really is just a personal choice, would you sacrifice most games and a large chunk of the available programs?
 
um..i suggest that you change this thread cause you're just gonna get a heated discussion. But it really does depend on what you're during w/ your comp. Sure you dont get any spyware, but you're sacrificing alot of other things, including those that starwarsman said.
 
You get spyware and viruses, you just get hardly any. If its just for internet use and office work, than an apple would be fine. But you do lose out on alot of programs and games since most of them are made for windows only.

Apples also cost more, you can get a nice budget PC for only a few hundred.
 
If you want to play games get a pc, if you are going to be video editing get a mac all day long, if you just want a mac because of spyware problems I would say no get a pc and just learn how to properly protect your self, I have not had any spyware in ages!
 
i have a mac G4 and a pc, and overall, the pc is better. people say macintoshes are much more stable and stuff, it crashes just as often/more ofter than my pc.
it is good for internet usages due to the restiance to most spyware/adware/viruses. and it is a great looking os and computer in general
 
alright thanks guys! i'm going with a pc for the following reasons

1. i know a lot about windows and i do know how to stop spy ware (i just thought it would be less of a hassle with a mac)

2.you good people have informed me that there aren't any inherent positives with the mac OS

Why is mac so good for video editing, PC's have more powerful processors anyways.

And all you need is a program like Norton Internet Security and you shouldnt have any problems.
 
I've had more problems with macs then windows. MAc's seem to have problems without the virus's. Talk about unstabibilty, not to mention you cant even press ctrl alt delte or antyhing yo have to do a hard shutdown.

If you elarn to use windows right you can avoid virus and malware.
 
Apples are mainly used for graphics design and some video editing and in my personal opinion easer to run then a pc. However a pc can be more personalized and if a major hardware problem should arise, easier to fix.
