Should I get the 8800GTX or wait for the R600?

Those aren't real quad cores, just fake ones. Real ones will be out in fall of next year.

Heck no. LCD's contrast is way lower than that of a CRT.

instead of just releasing such a comment... could you tell me why a LCD screen looks so much better then? al photo's etc seem to have much more contrast on a LCD, and the colours look much.. well,.. "Warmer".

Well I already said that my opinion on this is that the LCD screen is much closer to the surface then that of a CRT.

Thank you :D

I fear that history will look back upon the GF8-series like we already do upon the FX-series. Something that should have been rethought quite a bit before they did it.

I want some more conclusive information though before I totally put down the nVidia solution to DX10. I want some actual technical meat to tear through. However, at this point I'm REALLY loving ATI. I plan on buying a mainstream DX10 ATI card as soon as they release one. :)

^above said, looking at the release info on the G80, it DOES look like a new architecture. Hm...depends on how far out R600 is.
