should i give up gb for rpm?

the performance between the 2 isn't huge so if you really want the space go with the 400 but if you want every last little bit of performance go with the 10k

srry bout double posting lol

i still dont know which would b betetr to get for a high end gaming computer, performence? 10000rpm or higher space? 400gb

Like I said it's maybe a tiny bit better, but my 7200RPM drive is more than fast enough. Most of what you do isn't hard drive bound

if i get 1 hard drive and then wen i get more money i get amnother can i do that or do i need to do them at the same time?

and the hard drives that i am looking at is all ATA is that good or should i go wit scsi?

ATA is fine. No you don't need to buy the drives at the same time, you just want 2 that are the same. The 16MB cache would be marginally better.

If this is the main system drive, there will be a small performance increase in going for 10K. Unless you have a real need for all those acres of space, get the quicker drive. You'll probably find it hard to fully utilise 400Gb anyway, so it just sits there with loads of old files doing very little, why not have a performance boost instead?
