GPU: Sapphire HD5850 Vapor X_OC 1G GDDR5 PCIE
RAM: GSkill 4G(2x2G) DDR3 1600Mhz PC12800 CL8(4GBTD)
Tower Case: Antec 902
HDD: Samsung 1TB Spinpoint F3 SATA II 7200RPM 32M
Power Supply: Corsair HX-650 ATX Power Supply, 120mm fan
Monitor: Benq E2420HD 24inch Wide 2ms HDMI DVI D-Sub
Mouse: Logitech G9
Keyboard: Razer Lycosa Backlit Keyboard Mirror Ed

looks like a good build. what is your total budget? i wold just go with a 955 b.e. and overclock it if i were you. were you planning on doing any overclocking?
 
I'd go for a board with 8xx chipset rather than 790X so you can get the features such as USB 3 and SATA 6

The budget doesn't matter too much, i'm trying to keep under $2000 AUD
I might get the 995, and i havent done like any overclocking previously, but im willing to learn haha :)

well then you'll definitely want to add an aftermarket cooler. the stock one won't do the job if you overclock (it barely does it with stock settings). i would go for this one:

i didn't even notice the motherboard you had listed. i would also recommend an 8xx chipset.

keep in mind you won't be able to show off those goodies without a case modification. with that good budget, i would maybe look at an antec 1200:

just like the antec 900/902 only bigger (has more room and is taller).

Go for the AMD Phenom II x4 955 and for a budget HSF like Prolimatech Megahelms or Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro.

Does it matter that if i am getting an AMD CPU, i can still use that heatsink?

noctua nh-u12p is also a good one for around $60.

the new chipsets have features such as the latest version of usb, usb 3.0, and the latest version of sata, sata 6.0gb/s, features that aren't on the 790 chipsets (although i think one of them has sata 6.0gb/s).
