To be honest ive been considering moving to intel because my cpu is good but is quite old its from 2008. Athlon II x4 640 and I would save for a Z68 and get a 2500k as an upgrade or just get a bulldozer? which would also mean a new mobo because mine is AM3 not AM3+
If you're buying now then sandybridge is the best option, however if you can wait for ivy bridge and bd to come out, then you can make a better decision.
We don't know, but based on the technology (ie, 3d transistors) and the fact that i expect sandybridge to be better than BD, the most probable answer is yes. However ivy is a LGA2011 socket which is not compatiable to sandy.
