hey. I was thinking about overclocking.

(you can view my system specs here)

I Do some gaming, so idk if i should overclock. I know Black Edition is one of the best to overclock because it has a unlocked multiplier, but i dont have a warrenty or anthying.

but if i do over clock, should i use the multiplier or the cpu speed???

help, Alec

Yes, you should overclock it.

I would up the FSB a bit to give the ram a boost but other than that just concentrate on the multiplier.

Go for it, but don't expect too much out of those CPU's.

I would also use the multiplier as thats the sole reason for the BE.

yea increase the multiplier by 2 to get your cpu to 3.0 GHz t\hat should be enough but if u want u can go further but i thing 3.0 is as fast as u need it

The thing already runs at 3.2ghz duh!! It's obviously gonna be overclocked more than that unless he underclocks it.

^ What do you mean 3.2GHz? the stock on the CPU is 2.6GHz.

And on topic, yeah as everybody said, I think you should overclock since thats the main reason they came up with these Black Edition X2's.

no no no look who I quoted, its not the OP. The person who I quoted assumed theirs only 1 BE edition and underclocked it.

I quoted g25racer. The original poster is Drummeralec

I know there are more then one, but he was saying that the processor the OP had ran at 2.6GHz.

I am actually pleasantly Surprised with my BE CPU, I have a slower AMD BE-2350 Don't know if its that great, but I have a stock Heatsink and Fan from an X2 6000, and from stock 2.1Ghz, getting 11500 3dmark pts on 05, I have OC'd it to a stable 2.73Ghz getting 14800 3dMark pts, which is a drastic jump in 3dMark me thinks.

drummeralec even if u had warranty i believe it voids the warranty if you attempt to OC it, and OC your comp wen u feel it needs to be, if it runs fine leave it thats my IMO

Thats good for AMD's, but what I meant was don't expect as great of an overclock as you can get with the Intel Core 2's. For instance, I overclocked my quad core from 2.4GHz to 3.85GHz.
