Should I pay £70 for this desktop with no hdd?

I'm not very technically minded. My colleague is offering me his Acer Aspire L100, with AMD 64, and Win XP. He says it was running very slowly, he couldn't work out why, so he deleted a couple of registry items thinking they were slowing it, without realising they were needed. He is keeping the hard drive, and wants to sell it, with the power cable, for £70. I have no idea whether this is a reasonable price or not.

its hard to say without the full spec, its meant to have 160gb hdd and 1gb ram, cpu is not to bad, without a hdd, i would offer him £50, you will have to buy a sata hard drive and you will need a copy of windows.

I would probably say get HDD and run ubuntu.

your asking for a headache if you buy it, if hes keeping the hard drive, then you going to need an operating system, also you will have to find the drivers for everything in it... just a headache
