hi everyone. i know someone that wants to buy my motherboard, cpu, ram, cpu cooler, and my wireless x-box pc version controler. he offered me $400. i had been thinking of getting into intels new socket (1155), for some time now, and now that someone is intrested in my current stuff it opens up some money for the upgrade. was wondering 2 things:

who thinks its worth me selling the items i listed (which can be found in my sig at bottom), for $400? i will have to replace all parts but with intel platform, and will only be able to add $100, for a total of a $500 budget, but would much rather prefer to keep it as close to $400 as possible.

who thinks i should sell, then wait for bulldozer to determine which way to go (1155/2011/AM3+)?

all other components will be used with new platform.

all opinions appreciated

yeah iv thought about that, but it isnt an issue really. the person that wants to buy these components is set on getting them from me, so they are pretty much sold, i just need to confirm on his offer if i want to.

still though, i dont know what to do. what would others do?

Well, 400 is a very good selling price at this time because your parts are still valuable, not sure how long you have owned the pc though.

I figure all your parts amount to about 500-550 MAX before taxes and whatnot.

So getting 400 is pretty much your MOBO+CPU+RAM and your giving away the cooler and the xbox controller free.

Personally, if i had a few hundred to upgrade, and wanted a new rig, i would sell for 400, and build a new PC. If you wait for the new AMD geneation, your friend might change his mind when he sees the performance: value ratio of the new platform. Your also helping your friend by giving him a bit of a discount on those parts.

my vote: Sell!!

But this is a windows based PC.....Im sure you can find other means...;)

You should be careful what you say, that sort of thing is strictly against the rules here.

Tell us what the specs of your system are and I'll tell you if the guy made a good offer or if he's low balling you. You'll also net more money if you sell the parts individually.

the parts are in my sig at bottom of screen like i stated in the 1st post, but non the less, here is what i have for sale, and this is the updated deal:

ASUS M4N98TD EVO
AMD Phenom II x6 1090t
hynix 8 gigs DDR3 1333Mhz Ram (4x2gig)
Zalman cnps 7700 copper cpu cooler

he offered me $375 for these 4 things. all together ive spent $425, since i didnt have to pay for the ram im selling him, and i still will have 4 gigs of the same kind of ram after i sell it that i can use temporarily. i wont need a copy of windows either. he has his, and i have mine.

im loosing $50, not bad since i got to use this computer for about 6 months. im makinf most of my money back. so any more opinions on what i should do, and what i should get for $400?

Don't get that Zalman cooler for a start :) It's old and outdated in cooling performance. It's also loud, I've had one. There's not much you could change with that amount of money, so I think what you've chosen will do just fine.

LINKIN, you really need to read the 1st post to know what this is all about. im not buying these things, im selling them to a buddy. and with the money that i get im looking to upgrade, essentially what the post is really about.
