hello. so im thinking about selling my 2 gtx 470's. i have been using them together in sli, and they are truly great. but im affraid if i keep them much longer, i wont be able to get much out of them to put towards a more up to date card. is what im wondering is, how much longer will these cards be able to keep up with games be fore i will deffinatly need to upgrade? i play at 1080p, with maxed out settings, mandatory. What card should i get to replace them both, that will give me at least or close to the same performance? And if i were to sell them both, how much for each? thanks for the opinions, and the help in guidance.

i was looking at what the gtx 470 goes for now, and you can get the pny one (which is what i have) for $179 on newegg, although they are out of stock (and probably not getting any more). i just feel that $200 each is too much, but maybe im wrong? getting the gtx 570 sounds good, or even 2 x 560 in sli (although it would be about the same performance i have now), but im leaning more towards the 570, and getting one later for sli. but what about a 2gig card. is it necessary? like i said i play 1080p with full eye candy. any other suggestions would be great. thanks linkin, for you input.

I love my 570. I do wish it did have more Vram, because BF3 and other games use 1.4-2GB of Vram. I would still go with the 570 in your position. One of them plays BF3 at Ultra with about 35-50fps, and 60+ on high settings. Getting two of them later will play it at ultra really well.

if you can find a buyer, sure, but honestly only if your seriously hurting for performance would I sell them.

i would try for the 200 each and if you can afford it go for a 7970, otherwise a single 570 can still kick serious butt, and a second will last you a good long time before an upgrade is needed.
ebay shows the average sell price over the past month or 2 on gtx 470 being 207 and gtx470 no space being 202, so you should be able to get plenty from them.
