So here is the deal, I purchased a new system oct./nov. last year and never put it together. Yeah I know,it's been a long time, I had lots of issues between work, family and other stuff. Anyhew here is what I have

CM storm scout
Asus P6T Deluxe V2
Stock cpu cooler
I7 920
4870X2
OCZ 700 Fatalaty
1 T.B. WD HD
Rosewill all in one card reader
Samsung DVD
6 gb ram 1600
Win 7 Professional

So what I was thinking is upgrading the P6T Deluxe V2 with a mobo with 3.0 usb. Also upgrading the cpu cooler to the noctua nh-D14 although I don't plan on O.C. maybe down the line plus it will keep the cpu alot cooler. What do you guys think?

Thanks for your inputs.....:D:good:

That sounds good what kind of powersupply are you using? I hope you mean 1 terabyte harddrive cause 1 gig is very small.

Don't really see anything that needs upgrading... only things you might want to upgrde... maybe a DX11 graphics card, that's about it.

Yeah I thought about a new gpu but a 4870x2 does everything I need. There's nothing I need DX11 for as of now. And from what I'm told the 4870X2 runs better than a 5850 other than hotter and uses more energy. I have a cooler on the 4870X2, so it runs cool. As for the cooler yeah I think I'm going to look into maybe a noctua. So I'm adding this link on the GPU http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card,2521-8.html

Don't see the necessity of upgrade. The USB 3.0 issue could be solved by an add-on card.
If you don't plan to OC, no point of new heatsink.
Get 5870 if you want to play DX11, or 4870x2 will be fine.

Yeah, I just wanted someone to tell me the 4870X2 was still good =-)... I looked up the 5870, it would be nice but $400.00 is a lot to pay for the one game I play. And the 4870X2 is still an awesome card IMHO... I do think I'm going to get a new heatsink just because a cooler cpu will last longer and be better in the long run...:D

All looks mighty fine to me, I wouldn't mind having that. :)

Check your temperatures and see if you've got any issues there and maybe by some new fans/coolers.

Maybe you could go for some new speakers/headphones/mouse/keyboard if your just looking to spend some money... :good:

Temps are good with artic cooler xtreme normally at around 32C running games, but right now I've been doing scans and clean up all day at 36C. I have the logitech 2.1, OCZ mouse, saitek keyboard and new headphones along with a logitech microphone. I do have a back up logitech 4.1 thx older along with the new G15 keyboard and logitech mx 518 gaming mouse.

Curious question- how loud is you PC? :D
HD4870 draws much power.. it could besically 'heat up a small village'... and you've got 2 of them aswell.

What PSU are you using?

PC isn't loud to me at all, I'm runnin 5 fans in an antec 900 case all on high. I'm also running 2 fans on the 4870X2 with the aftermarket artic cooler and I'm running a artic pro 7 for the cpu so 8 fans total. =-) See the first post, I'm running a OCZ 700 gamextream... :) You can definatley hear the fans, but it's not loud, I've also put inside a pc of dynamat extream on the base, but it doesn't seem to do anything...:good:

The CPU would become obsulete before it gone. What is the point of new heatsink?
