Should I upgrade my CPU

I have gtx 980 and 8gb RAM and intel core i5 4430 but while gaming my cpu gets very high and sometimes when playing fortnite it flat out crashes and ı cant even play Rust at all should I upgrade my cpu and if I should what should I get

Crashing can be a symptom of many things. Are you still running Windows 7?

When is the last time you reapplied thermal paste to the processor?

Your processor doesn't meet the minimum requirements to play Rust. Unless your motherboard can support a higher end processor of that generation, you'll need a new motherboard and RAM to get a new processor.
