Should I upgrade to a pentium 4?

MY computer is too slow to run games now.
It's a celeron 2.8ghz, 512 meg ram, 450W power supply, ATI x800 graphics card, msi 915pl neo-v motherboard.
I was thinking as I don't have enough money for a whole new computer, I could upgrade to this

And also add one gig of ram, would this be worth it or should I just wait the 1 year or whatever to buy a new one?

Well you could get it from newegg.com for almost half: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116004 (and that's newegg.com, which rocks). Have you thought about getting dual core?

Oops, didn't see that it was AU, so I don't think newegg.com would work...
120.00 AUD ~ 111.318 USD, right? I still think the ebay.com one is overpriced, and I think you could get it cheaper.

i think you should get one more stick of 512mb ram or a 1gb stick and dont get a p4 spend a bit more money and get a E4400 then your pc should be pretty good for some games

The most my mobo will support is a pentium 4.
**** it I'll just get a new mobo and save up the money and get a quad core.

Yeah, but don't buy a quad core until January when the new 45nms come out. I think I'll put that in my signature because I tell about 10 people a day.

if you save up and buy a new mobo and duel core cpu you will proberbly have to upgrade the memory and graphic card.
