Should I upgrade?

At the beginning of next year, either Jan or March, I gotta be in the army for 2 years. Now, I get to leave camp on weekend (and perhaps other days, depending on where i get posted to). I'd like to enjoy some PC gaming when im not in camp so i was thinking of getting a GTX560 but as said, im only going to be home for 2 days a week (lets just assume that's all i get). So, is it worth it to upgrade my 9600gt to a GTX560? I mean, the way i see it, a GTX560 is going to last me a really long time because game graphics are actually struggling to keep up with the advancement in hardware. We're still using crysis to run benchmark for GPU. My 9600gt can actually max out most games at 1280x1024. so, what do you think?

I agree with you on the hardware is far in front of the software...

Sure, why not upgrade? :P

can always go up to like a 6870 or 6770 or something if your playing at that res, cuz either of those would last you years.

I think it depends on what games your wanting to play,If its the upcomming BF3 then id say yes to upgrading.

thanks for the input! I think I'll get a gtx 560 and then get another in SLI a few years down the road if need be, though i dont think i'll need it since it's been 4 years since crysis was released and there isnt really any game that has come as close to butchering GPUs like it did (and as far as i know, there isn't any in the near future either).
As for the res that im gonna be playing at, im probably getting a 23" full hd monitor.

well with todays gpus i don't think it is really possible to butcher our gpus without creating a full world with every single detail, and i bet a sli'd gtx590 or crossfired 6990 could run that (or close).
