actually....the 7600 GT outperforms the X1600XT by a few frames only difference is the vertex shader in the 7600 is not as good but thats not really noticeable..if it was me i would go for the 7600 GT

I think the x850PE is better. It has 16 pipelines and 256bit memory interface.

The performance difference between the X850XT PE and 7600GT isn't enormous, certainly nothing worth upgrading. Both cards are significantly better than an X1600XT.

Keep what you have.

No to first. No to second. The X850XT PE creams the X1600XT by around 1000 Points in 3dmark05, and beats the 7600GT by around 300 points in 3dmark05. Other than SM3.0, there is no reason whatsoever to downgrade.

I strongly agree.

I've had an x800GTO, x1600PRO, 7600GS, and an x850XT PE, and nothing comes close the the x850.

The x1600PRO is on par with the x800GTO, and the 7600GT is just a little better then the x800GTO. Deffinetly do not upgrade your card to one of those, since it will most likely be a downgrade in performance.

The x850XT PE is on par with a 7800GT at stock.

the x850xt pe was once the flagship card for ati, before the x1000 series. The x1600 is more or less a budget card. THe x850xt pe would bea the x1600 by far.
