I'm having a problem with my PC. I do heavy torrent downloading and usually never turn my system off. For some reason the last 2 or 3 times that I left my system on downloading and left the house when I came back a few hours later I had a Windows sign on screen waiting for me. What would cause my system to reset if no ones using it and its just downloading? Also I've never had any reset problems while I was using my machine it only happens when I leave it for a while.

One way to see if your system is overheating especially the cpu is the freeware known as Speedfan if you are without a hardware monitor in the bios itself. You can download that from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download337.html

Have you used a can of compressed air to blast the dust and dirt from inside your case lately? Case fans(intake) draw in the dust while cpu fans seem to attract it. With a system running 24/7 you want to be sure there is adequate cooling.

Do you have any sheduled startups or have the auto update feature enabled? With that enabled the update process would interfere with a torrent as well as restart the system to complete the installation. It's doubtful but possible that a screen saver or power management feature starting up a period of inactivity would clash with the torrent. If the standby mode is enabled in the power options that would disrupt things.
