Shuttle cpu help!

• Socket 939 supports AMD Athlon™ 64 and Athlon64 FX processors
1 GHz system bus with 2000MT/s Hyper-Transport link

The above is what reads on a website I am thinking of buing a shuttle from. I am concerned about the highlighted red area "1 GHz system bus" as when on the processors page on the site you can choose 1Ghz or 2Ghz to narrow down your desired results.

Does the fact that the shuttls says supports a "1 GHz system bus" mean a dual core athlon cannot be used/or to its full effect as dual core processors are not featured on the 1Ghz tab on the product finder?

Thanks, Nick

AMD K8s use a hypertransport for their system bus with a stock default clock of 200MHz. Socket754 boards have a limit o up to 4.0x for a final multiplier (meaning the clock of the bus is 800MHz --> 1600DR) while Socket939 boards are generally at a multiplier of 5.0 (for 1000MHz --> 2000DDR) so when a system says 1GHz/2GHz thats really all the same thing

Well it depends on the motherboard that, that specific shuttle ueses and whether it supports the dual core or not
