Side Scroller or Top Down View?

I've been working on a plot for a simple game lately, and the way it's worked out either view would work fine. I was considering doing a combination of the two in my game, but not to sure if i want to do that. So, when you guys play a non 3D game, which do you prefer? Or, give another opinion on that matter. Thanks!

Side scroller. No real reason for it, but I've never liked top down games much.

It depends. Super Smash Bros. pwns, but Doodle Jump is also pretty cool. If you can do both, then go for it.

I prefer top down view. Absolutely loved the old GTA's...

but then Super Smash Bro's is cool.

I guess it depends on the object of your game.
