(sigh) Laptop isn't booting

I just started it back up and it comes to my wallpaper and I can't see icons or do anything else. I see my mouse. I get no error messages or anything. I shut it down to the book. I was thinking it was just hot. So, I let it set for about 15 mins. And still nothing. Maybe, I'll let it sit a while more.

Any suggestions are greatly admired!
 
I don't think that would have anything to do with it. I had that problem and I didn't see any screen. This time, I do. I see everything boot up nicely except for when it gets to my wallpaper, I only see my wallpaper and not my icons nore anything else. I can mess around with my mouse that's about it.
