What are they called? the problem is a friend has a big home. its a ranch and 5000 sq ft. they want access to anywhere in the house for the wireless network. What are options options?
They have a Cisco router that will not reach all over the house or outside. Only most rooms and outside to specific areas.

I have an internal wireless Netgear Pci card that runs a external antenna with about 3 m of cable and i sit the antenna on my desk and i can reach on a still night 1.5 kms away no idea how it achieves this with 2 bars :eek: so just look for an external wifi antenna and they will get what you mean i got my antenna off a friend that originally came with his compaq presario desktop pc.
 
With that big of a home, you will need either range extenders, additional access points or more routers.
 
thankyou.......thats what i needed.

guess the next question is where to get a range extender.

since i did not know i said call cisco since they can afford it.
I don't want to suggest and buy and do not know enough about
it in the first place.
