Signal Booster help!

Hello Computer Forum,

I have a question for you. My modem is going to be moved into my room where I can easily have access to the internet through ethernet. But the only problem is, we have 3 computers in the house. one of which is in our basement which is going through two floors of our house, and I don't know if the signal will reach it (The other two computers are using wireless, I'm the only gamer in the house) :P If it will not reach that computer I will have to think of something else, I have heard of these things called Signal or Range boosters. is there anything I need to know about them before I invest in something like that?

Thank you

What if you leave the modem in the middle floor. then maybe the signal will be sufficient for basement and your room.

Investing in boosters may not be good idea, maybe a more powerful modem would be wise choice for long run way up the cost difference.

Well, there isn't much to offer in trying to extend the signal. The best best would probably be better antenna's if that's possible on your router. Many things come into play as you may already know yourself that 2 floors may complicate things.

The easiest thing you can do is to get an access point and try to extend the signal by placing it on the first or second floor. However, try your current setup right now and see if it will work w/o it.
