Signal not detected ??

Hello,

My situation is unique and I have run out of ideas as to what is causing this problem. If anyone could shine some light or throw some ideas, I would VERY much appreciate it!!!

I have a custom build. That being said, at one point everything worked great. Now, I am having issues with my monitor recognizing the signal when the CPU is on. I replaced my motherboard with a fresh and new one, replaced my video card with one that has dual DVI inputs and still it does not recognize. This being said, when I put in a VGA video card with a VGA cord, it will recognize that (the monitor has DVI and VGA inputs). I dont want to use the VGA for obvious reasons.

What else could I be missing with this? If the motherboard and video card were replaced, and the monitor works, what is wrong then?

Thank you very much!!!

It sounds like the DVI port on the monitor is damaged.

On my BenQFP91G+, the VGA/DVI are one piece within the monitor, initially purchased from newegg. Is there anything that I can do so that I do not have to buy a new monitor? I understand your thought, but I honestly do not abuse anything I own, and it has been in great hands since I received it. Do they just stop working after one year?

Thanks,

Just because the monitor hasn't been physically abused by you doesn't mean that it's not damaged. There are a number of reasons for a damaged DVI port, anywhere from shipping damage, to damage at the wharehouse, to environmental conditions, to it being a bad port to begin with, to a bad solder on the circuit board, etc. The fact that the monitor works on VGA but not DVI points to either the monitor's DVI port, the DVI cable, or the video card's DVI port.

Okay, I have an update and still no progress.

On my HDTV, I have a VGA-in for a PC. I also have an old VGA PCI card that works. I connected both, and the TV cannot find the signal. So at this point, the monitor is not involved, and I am not utilizing the DVI capabilities at this moment.

All my cables are connected properly, again with a new motherboard and new video card (2 DVI but not testing it right now).

Any reasons why this is not working?

Thanks again,
