SII ICS Update Question.

Can someone help me out.

Although I have a contract with t-mobile it wasnt directly from them (from tescos phone shop) as such the phone is unbranded and unlocked to any network.

it has the following model numbers: PDA:KI4 PHONE:KI1 CSC:KH2(XEU)

And I believe the last part states that it is the uk generic model so why can I find no official update, either over the air or via kies?
Yet samsung have confirmed the uk ics update will be available for the non branded handsets from 19/03/12 in the uk?

Anyone else got it yet?

Thanks

Its up to your provider when they release the update. Google releases the update to the the providers and then its out of their hands, its up to the providers when they release it.

yeah I know but my device is the international version and not network locked. Samsung said the international version would receive updates from 19/03/12 in the uk.

got this info from another forum which other people may find helpful:

After this I phoned Samsung Technical Support and spoke to a galaxy phone specialist. For the first time I didn't get the standard response which is something like
'Galaxy S2 upgrades will be subject to each network’s own software approvals process'
He said that the software was being released in batches to open market version phones depending on their software version and that by this Friday all open market phones should be able to update via Kies.

I am not desperate to have ICS but I hate not knowing what is going on! The Samsung announcement said ICS would be released during the week commencing 19th March. Tomorrow is the end of the week

I suggested that someone in Samsung should post this information on their website, twitter feed etc

XEU apparently shows that it is open eu firmware.
