Hey,

i am looking for some help to buy a silent computercase with good airflow so i can play games and at the same time study without any noise. i have been looking at Lian Li CLASSICAL SILENT PC-S80B because someone has it for sale.

Can anyone recommend this case? or coment on it?
or is it the wrong case for those requirement?

Any Lian Li case is good I have not used the Classical Silent but I have used many others. I have never been disappointed in a Lian Li case they are in my top 5 list of the best case manufactures.

Last fall when I built my current PC I ran down to the local computer shop to look at cases. I avoided buying this item online to mitigate any costs incurred from shipping.

It is kind of big, larger than I wanted however, the cooling system and the way it is built for cable management is pretty slick. It is also very very quiet. I can't hear it at all. The only annoying thing I have found with it so far is that the LED for the power and HD activity are very bright and stay on all the time. This is not a deal breaker for me since my computer is not in the same room that I sleep in.

That's my only beef with the case as well. And why the hell would you make the LEDs blue?! lol. Overall it's awesome.

I wish they had a mid tower version as I have no real need for a full tower, and even though I don't waste money on liquid cooling, it is all built in just in case I want to.

Cable management though is some of the best I have ever seen in a case. Well worth it. You could replace the LEDs or just unplug them I guess. Like I said my computer room is not where I sleep so it doesn't bother me much but they are bright. In fact, I guess in my situation they are a benefit since they act as a night light when I walk through my home at night with the lights off.

HAF 922

Pretty much identical, just a downsized to a mid tower.

difficult choice

Hey guys, thank's for your comments. Well i dont know, i am very concerend about the noise level of the cases. I have been looking at

Lian Li PC-S80B vs Lian Li's PC-6070 Aluminum
but i cant find much about the two cases 8might be a bit old?) , if you had to choose between the two with the aim of a quiet computer. which onw would you pick?

I'll agree with the HAF 932 as mine is whisper quiet also.

Hijack>>>

@mep916 and tlarkin:

That's a known issue with the HAF 932 front panel LED's.

All you have to do is go HERE and submit a "Part Request".

They will send you the whole top cover unit, including all the cables for free.

It took about 2 months for me to get mine, but it was worth it. Those lights are super bright,
and having both of them on all the time was annoying.

Hmm I don't think that was out or it wasn't in stock anywhere locally when I bought my case. The larger one weighs near 30lbs with nothing in it.

Yeah, they released that long after you built your rig. Hasn't been out that long.

Get what you think is best. I have told you that one of the best cases out there is the HAF because of cable management and how quiet it is. My hard drives make more noise than my fans.

If you are that worried about noise, get a liquid cooling system.

No, not as far as I know. But that Lian-Li Lancool puts that Cooler Master RC 690 to shame. Alot better construction and quality.

Looks like the same case to me, except the internal black paint job.

Granted, I've never seen either case in person, but I would have to
choose the bargain case. :good:

Not going to get into them looking the same from 10 feet away. As far as quality/hardware there not even in the same league.

The pictures of each case are much closer than ten feet. Like I said, I haven't seen either case in person, as you obviously have.

I'm just saying, they're similar cases, and if I had to chose strictly by design alone, I'd choose the cheaper case.
