silent pc

hi all i have a acer desktop which is very good but is too loud

does anybody know a good Dell or HP silent desktop pc (being my favorite cannot stand others).

If its a good pc but too loud,Why not just replace any fans in there with silent/better quality ones?

It could be anything causing it to be loud,the fans,hard drive etc.

Whats the model of your current Acer desktop?...and if its very good why are you wantin to replace it?...just because of noise?

^^^ like said above. Have you opened it up to see if you have alot of dust build up on the CPU heatsink and fans?

thanks i will try that straight away altough it has beeen quite a loud computer since i got it .
i havent checked lately if the fans are dust last time i opened it up was when i had to install a new soundcard it was then dusty but that was ages ago

one thing you dont want to ever do in your life is buy an HP though, thats the worst brand you can buy.

blow it out like mentioned. Replace the battery, cheap enough. likely a 2032. Might as well do it now if a couple years old. any drug store in the states. office supply. Its a maybe and best shot for quick fix.
