Silent Power Supply

I have an Antec NeoPowerHE, and it's inaudible. And by inaudible, I mean in testing it alone, by itself with a PSU tester (with the rest of my system off). Power supplies are too quiet to justify getting a passively cooled one. You may consider one with a 14+ cm fan on the top as opposed to the old 80mm fan on the back, but really just choose by the reputability of the PSU. Unless you choose a particularly obnoxiously loud one there's no way you'll hear it over the rest of your machine.

I have the OCZ stealxstream 600w power supply, and i have to say it is the quitest thing in my case. When i turned on the power supply i thought it was DOA because it was TOO quite. You need to put your ear to the fan to hear it, and even then it's nearly unhearable. :)

What video card do you have?

Are you looking for a truly silent (i.e. fanless PSU), as might be appropriate for a media centre PC etc... or just a quiet one.

How rich you are! :) I usually pick up a power supply aroun $30 :D

i hate to say it, but the power supply in my computer is currently the most expensive part, at about 130 bucks lol

also i'd like to point out that by no means can i hear my power supply over even one case fan, and i have the OCZ GameXstream 700W psu
