i have alot of avi vides and i converted and burned but i was wondering if there are any other way of doing it like an ALL in ONE program i tried dvdsanta but it didnt work on any of my dvd players and the convert and burn method is a pain and it takes up alot of space im currently converting a 730mb avi and it been going for about 36 mins and it is at 1.5gb:mad: and i am also using SUPER to convert and tmpgenc dvd author to burn so basically my question = is there an easier/faster why do burn avi's to dvd  ??

not really

nero will do it for you, convert to mpeg-2 and then burn, if that's what you're asking

my best advice, tho, is to head down to walmart, they've got a dvd player that's divx ultra certified for $49.99. It will play your divx/xvid/mpeg-4 .avi files off of a dvd, without them needing to be converted, if that makes any sense

so rather than having to create a video-dvd of the movie, you can simply burn the .avi files to a dvd-rom, and watch them off the dvd. You'll be able to fit 5-10 movies depending on size/length, and it's a real life-saver for tv shows, too, i can fit an entire season of divx tv shows onto a single dvd

it'll more than pay for itself in time/dvd's compared to having to convert each movie, and burn each one to a seperate disc, plus you lose picture quality when you re-convert to mpeg-2

No, unfortunately there are no shortcuts (time-wise) to making DVDs. It's perfectly normal that a 730mb avi file going around 36 mins takes 1.5 gigs. Chances are, the file size is going to get even bigger. A regular DVD has 4+ gigs, think about that. I usually leave at least 5 gigs of free space when making DVDs, but the suggested space is 10gigs.

One shortcut I can suggest is to use ConvertXtoDvd. It's the easiest, fastest converter I've used. The picture and sound quality is decent too. Works great for avi files, just drag and drop. It's best to leave your computer converting overnight so when you wake up in the morning, you have the DVD done. That way you don't have to get bored waiting ;) AND! Don't use your PC while converting (unless maybe you have dual core):D

yes, you add all the files you want to the compilation, create a menu if you want, and then it batch converts all the files, burns them to the disc, and then deletes all the temporary files automatically when it's done (unless you want to make multiple copies)

it's not nero itself, but it's nero-vision, which comes bundled with nero 7.

I use DVDit Pro 6 it's all easy drag and drop workflow with professional features. Drag your video and music files in whatever format they are once your done making the menu up click burn and the software will convert it all and burn it for you. Bare in mind some DVDs are - some are + some are more compatible with a certain type of DVD disc I can't remember which one is the best but DVDit help menu is very usefull on the pros and cons.

ya, there's a number of very good dvd authoring programs.

just in time for the new standards to come out, with HD and bluray.

time for a whole new set of software :(

I like the 50GB capacity of Bluray theirs already a DVDit version for that but I bet the BluRay burners are dear.
