Simple Laptop Ideas

I am looking for a new laptop and would like some ideas of what to get. It will mostly just be used for Minecraft. I have a desktop that I have all my music and other games on, but wanted something portable for that. I have a very basic knowledge about processors and RAM and hard drives. I am hoping to keep the budget under $500, but don't want something that is going to go to crap in a few months. Since only Minecraft an web surfing would be what it's used for I figured I wouldn't need anything too fancy. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Okay, minecraft is not hard at all to run, so this should be possible in the $500 budget.

CPU : Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6GHz
RAM : 1GB
GPU : GeForce 66xx or ATI Radeon 9xxx and Up with OpenGL 2 Support (Excluding Integrated Chipsets)
HDD : 150MB

Never use an HP laptop. They are the worst as far as customer service and ability to last. If you want to shop for a new laptop inside of 3 months then they are great.
