Simple Question-Need Your Input!

Last week my computer had a pop up and said my computer was infected with a virus and to click here to fix it. Never clicked on it but my computer simply stopped working. Everything I clicked on it said it could not find the short cut and wanted to know if it could delete the short cut. I tried Systems Restore and nothing happened. When we opened up an ITunes account we downloaded Safari Express but have never used it. Now for some reasons it's the only thing that will work when I click on it. It works perfect. Now please tell me why it will work perfectly but nothing else will? I'm really confused by this. Thanks!

Well, my guess is that your computer has a complete ecosystem of viruses, trojans, spyware and other shit. That gives you three options:

a. Back-up important files and format.
b. Get Knopix Linux (live-cd), install Avast, and scan the whole pc. (This is difficult)
c. Disconnect the hard-drive, and scan it with the pc of a friend. He should have quite some expierence with situations like these, or he might get infected too.

Backup files and reformat. Best and pretty much a 100% guarantee of the... problem going away.
