Simple Sata Cable Question

Never used a SATA drive before, only ATA's.

So here's two questions.

I'm buying this: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

And installing it onto this motherboard: ASUS P5K SE EPU LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

1. Is the Hard Drive compatible with my motherboard? (I know this is kind of a noob question, but I'm just making sure before I buy it)

2. What cables should I be buying?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Good choice on a hard drive there. The Western Digital hard disk drive will work fine with your present motherboard. You will notice the new hard drive will have faster read and write times over your Parallel ATA drive.

Do you have a Molex to Serial ATA power adapters or do you already have Serial ATA power connectors on your power supply?

These Serial ATA cables look good:

Rosewill 19.7 inch Serial ATA III Blue Round Cable 6 Gigabit per second transfer rate - $4.50

I would buy at least three in my opinion.

Edit: I found these at TigerDirect.com that are less expensive:

StarTech Serial ATA II Cable Serial ATA 150/300 - $3 (shipping costs unknown)

Yes, that board supports both IDE and SATA drives. You'll need a SATA data cable which often comes with the motherboard and/or the drive. However, no cable will come with that bare drive. Unless your PSU is old, it should already have SATA power connectors.
