Single or Dual Graphics Card

I am building gaming box and was wondering whats better, 1 Radeon HD 5850 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150477) or 2 Radeon HD 5770 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102873).

Honestly, there going to perform about the same.personaly i would go with the single 5850. why? less heat,less power and you get upgrade to another 5850 when you need to,instead of replacing both 5770's when its time to upgrade.

Edit-But than agian, two 5770's would give you a back up if one f-up.

yeah I agree with tech savvy becoz you keep your second gpu port free for upgrades and the performens of a 5850 is a bit better then the dual 5770 if you ask me.

And a single 5850 is going to be more consistent as two 5770's in CrossFire won't scale perfectly. One of the few multi-gpu setups I'd go for is two GTX 460's, but I prefer single card solutions.
