I have the old Sis 620 board.. I wanted to know if there's a way to change how the system uses onboard memory where it can use some system memory so I can run applications like games without getting a new video card...(I ask because my pockets are not deep)...lol

i'm not understanding completely...
you want to know where you can change the ram your integrated video card is allowed to use?

Didn't know if there's a setting of how to allow my board to use system memory for video applications since my onboard memory is only 8mb... .

Yeah Vipernitrox pretty much... If that makes sense.. :o

you can change it in your bios. under chipset configuration or something like that.
you do know how to get into bios? look for the "press ... button to enter setup" when you computer is booting.

do be carefull about what you change, you can really **** up your computer in there.
and don't really expect any big performance increase or something. it's probably hardly noticeable.

i would really suggest getting a new video card.

dang, can't change it.. :( Even if I could afford a video card, I don't have any slots left on this board.. The only PCI slot is used by Ethernet, and there's no AGP.. :(

well, unless any member here knows about an external videocard??? the only thing to do is upgrade practically your whole system ---> mobo, cpu, gpu. but that's quite costly...

Yeah, hopefully I can save up for something better than what I got.. On Temp Disability now, so that sucks.. Once I get the funds I'm sure I'll have a million posts on here for advice on which part to pick, etc..lol :D
